Insulating glazing curtain walls

Curtain walls are architectural elements increasingly present in the urban landscape. They are divided into several types: curtain walls standard, semi-structural and structural.

Curtain walls standard are economical and easy to install, being ideal for modern facades. Semi-structural ones combine the aesthetics of a fully structural wall with the functionality of an accessible system. Instead, curtain walls structurali represents the most advanced technology, offering a modern look, with windows mounted without visible profiles – the perfect solution for buildings with a special architectural design.

Regardless of the type of curtain wall, the solutions are adapted to the technical and aesthetic requirements of each project, ensuring compliance with the highest quality standards.

Standard Curtain Walls

Standard curtain walls represent the most economical solution for modern facades, being ideal for buildings of various sizes. This curtain wall system is easy to install with quick turnaround time and low maintenance costs.

Features:

  • The mounting profiles are visible in both directions (horizontal and vertical), giving a more traditional look, but at the same time practical and easy to adapt.
  • The windows intended for these types of curtain walls they can be made of monolithic, laminated or secured glass, performing essential functions such as thermal and sound insulation, safety and aesthetics. Their secondary sealing is done with polyurethane. Each variant is adapted to the specific requirements of modern architectural projects, ensuring durability and high performance.
  • Thermal insulating glazing can be used, which contributes to the energy efficiency of the building, protecting the interior from heat loss/decreasing the greenhouse effect.
  • This type of curtain wall is perfect for commercial, residential or industrial buildings.

Semi-structural Curtain Walls

Semi-structural curtain walls offer a compromise between the aesthetics of a fully structural curtain wall and the functionality of a standard curtain wall. In this type of system, the mounting profiles are only visible in one direction (horizontal or vertical), which gives visual continuity and a cleaner appearance compared to standard curtain walls.

Features:

  • Profiles are only visible in one direction, allowing for a modern yet accessible aesthetic.
  • The windows intended for these types of curtain walls they can be made of monolithic, laminated or secured glass, performing essential functions such as thermal and sound insulation, safety and aesthetics. Their secondary sealing is done with bicomponent silicone. Each variant is adapted to the specific requirements of modern architectural projects, ensuring durability and high performance.
  • The windows can be with or without the insertion of "U" type pieces
  • Sealing is done on an automatic silicone robot
  • It is a versatile solution that can be adapted for different types of buildings, from offices to commercial premises or residential buildings.
  • The VALRAS factory workflow includes initial laboratory tests to validate materials and glazing performance, followed by production tests to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Structural Curtain Walls

Structural curtain walls are the most advanced technological solution for glass facades, offering a completely modern look without the mounting profiles being visible from the outside. This system involves gluing the glass to the aluminum frame with the help of a structural silicone or by inserting some U-type pieces to seal the perimeter.

Features:

  • The glass is mounted on the aluminum frame by an advanced technology, leaving no visible traces of profiles on the facade.
  • This solution offers an exceptional aesthetic impact, creating the impression of a continuous glass wall, ideal for office buildings, shopping centers or buildings with a modern design.
  • The windows can be with staggered sheets for gluing on the frame or with the insertion of "U" type parts
  • Sealing is done on an automatic silicone robot
  • It is perfect for buildings that emphasize architectural design and the integration of glass as the main element of the facade.
  • The VALRAS factory workflow includes initial laboratory tests to validate materials and glazing performance, followed by production tests to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Insulating glazing for curtain walls of various sizes, thicknesses and configurations can be made in the VALRAS factory

  • Maximum glass processing dimensions: 5000mm x 2800mm
  • Thicknesses of monolithic glass sheets: 3 – 40 mm
  • Total insulating glazing thickness: up to 65 mm
  • Spacer rods: 6 – 32 mm
  • Inert gas used: argon
The production of glazing is carried out according to the provisions of the standard EN 1279-1:6
